Others’ inability to see your worth doesn’t define who you are!

The business world is a challenging place to be. 10 years ago I left behind the safety of monthly salary to start my own coaching services business for businesspersons and organizations. I have faced many difficulties, since then. An immature domestic market in Greece at the beginning that could not understand the value of coaching in business, were not aware of what podcasts, videos and articles focusing on mindset (my expertise) were, up to a point that they were making fun of my work calling it American bullshit and were resistant to online sessions. Closed doors for collaboration with organizations, because I wasn’t friends with the HR manager or the decision maker, so that to give me their contracts. Others questioning my professionalism and skills, because they were biased by their belief saying: “She’s just a cute girl and that’s it. What does she know from productivity, leadership, performance? She’s not like Mr. or Mrs. X, who seem serious professionals”. And finally those, who told me straight to my face, laughing arrogantly: “Who do you think you are?”
Well, I am who I want to be and I put all my heart and soul to my business, because I love what I do. That’s why I overcame all the above obstacles (and everyday I overcome the newcoming ones) by searching for opportunities worldwide and giving my business an outward orientation and I’ve found great businesspersons, who understood the value of my contribution to their company’s success and trusted me to help their people and themselves thrive, even if I’m thousand kilometers away. With my 10-year constant and daily commitment to share knowledge and motivation I received acknowledgement for my work from all over the world.
Every day, I continue breaking one by one all the obstacles and move forward. Why am I saying all these to you? Because, if you also have a dream for your career and you know who you want to be, don’t let anyone who questions or snobs you, stop you! You’ve got to move forward, you’ve got to find the right way to get there, no matter what.
